If you ever wished you were around when the industrial revolution kicked off, then Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon will give you the chance to revisit history.
This BlackBerry version of the popular PC-based Railroad Tycoon game allows you to build your very own transportation empire. Your aim is to master supply and demand and use your tactical know-how to expand your rail network, while overseeing the growth of towns and cities.
Easy it ain't, and Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon isn't the kind of game you can just pick up and play. Thankfully there is a tutorial level that guides you through the processes of connecting towns, selling bonds to raise funds, controlling stock and cargo, and buying trains. If you have a business brain then you should be able to pick things up by the time you get to the first proper level.
In terms of its graphics, Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon is pretty detailed. As with all these type of building simulation games for phones though, the visuals do tend to be pretty small, so you might need your reading glasses. The music and sound effects in the game are nice too.
If you can get around the complexity of the game, then you'll probably be hooked on Railroad Tycoon for quite some time.
